What is Dare2Move?

The Dare2Move Challenge is a 5 day DTBY wellness experience designed to help youth build confidence through action. Each day introduces a simple challenge focused on movement, mindset, kindness, reflection, and self-expression.

Build Confidence

Small daily wins help youth show up, follow through, and believe in themselves.

Strengthen Mindset

Each challenge supports resilience, discipline, emotional awareness, and growth.

Move Together

Youth take on the challenge together each day at 2:00 PM EST as part of a shared movement.

The 5 Day Challenge

Each day has one simple challenge, flexible ways to participate, and a direct connection to DTBY’s mission.

Week 1 April 11 – 15

5K Run or Walk

Momentum + Physical Wellness

Kick things off with a 5K run or walk to boost your heart rate and create momentum for the week.

  • Complete a 5K outdoors, on a treadmill, indoors, or by tracking steps
  • Participate individually or with friends
  • Walking modifications are fully accepted

DTBY Connection: This challenge helps youth build confidence through movement and shared participation.

Day 2

Push or Sit

Discipline + Perseverance

At 2:00 PM, complete 20 pushups or 20 sit ups while focusing on effort, form, and consistency.

  • Choose pushups, sit ups, crunches, or modified variations
  • Split the challenge with a partner or group if needed
  • Focus on progress, not perfection

DTBY Connection: This builds self-control, determination, and a growth mindset through challenge.

Day 3

An Act of Kindness

Emotional Intelligence + Community

Complete one intentional act of kindness and reflect on the impact it may have on someone else.

  • Help a friend, send a thank you note, donate items, or encourage someone
  • Acts can be virtual or in-person
  • Share a reflection, photo, or story in a way that feels comfortable

DTBY Connection: This supports compassion, emotional literacy, and healthier communities.

Day 4

Letter to Your Future Self

Reflection + Growth

Write 2 paragraphs to yourself 5 years from now about your current struggles, current wins, and what matters most.

  • Include 2 to 4 things you hope your future self has not forgotten
  • Voice memo or video options work too
  • Younger participants can use a fill-in-the-blank version

DTBY Connection: This builds self-awareness, emotional resilience, and confidence in the future.

Day 5

Dancing Into Your Greatness

Joy + Authenticity

Celebrate your growth by putting on your favourite song and dancing for the full duration of it.

  • Post your dance, movement, or creative version on social media
  • Seated movement options are welcome
  • Use headphones for a silent disco vibe if needed

DTBY Connection: Leadership also means joy, confidence, and being comfortable as yourself.
